In today's fast paced banking world, mergers, acquisitions, and multinational operations are the norm. Inevitably, the loss in these corporate shuffles is often the personal service that sustains a long-term banking relationship.

For nearly 200 years, Millbury National Bank (MNB) has provided the type of consistency that businesses need. MNB has balanced exceptional personal service with the demands of 21st century banking. The array of banking tools provided by MNB is as comprehensive as most large banks, yet with a staff that is able to provide one-on-one service for all customers.

Millbury National Bank's commitment to personal service began a long time ago and continues to this day.

Millbury National Board Millbury National Bank was founded in 1825 by gun maker Asa Waters II, whose influence is still evident in the bank today. Prominently on display, is a portrait of Mr. Waters who was its largest stockholder and first president, serving in that capacity until 1829. At that time, being the first and only bank in town, MNB was simply called "The Millbury Bank." In 1864, the bank took advantage of reforms in banking law and became Millbury National Bank.

In those early years, the bank served the needs of the first generation of local businessmen who founded the bank. Today, that focus and dedication to local small business continues.

Kate Corey Marcum Still a family-run bank, President Kate Corey Marcum represents the third generation of management of the bank that began with E. Paul Harris in 1937. MNB has experienced solid, stable growth over the years. In 1994, the bank celebrated the opening of its first branch in North Grafton.

"We pride ourselves on a tradition of service that we have provided to the local business community for many years," said Marcum. "Where can anyone go today, walk into the bank, and actually meet the decision maker for their loan? That's what we're about, and we'll never grow so large that we cannot provide hands-on service to our customers. We are a small, financially sound institution dedicated to serving the needs of small and medium sized businesses in our community. And that's how we intend to stay."
